Raising Henry: A Memoir of Motherhood, Disability, and Discovery
I'm not a parent but I can't imagine hearing that your son has Down's Syndrome is a cause for celebration. Rachel Adams tells the story of her experience raising her son and all of their amazing triumphs and struggles along the way. Adams and her husband were tireless advocates for their son even when it seemed like everything was against them. They made it their mission to learn everything they can about their son's disability and never made him feel like he was anything other than their son that they loved. I loved everything about this book and think it should be a must read for anyone dealing with a child who might be differently abled.
